공 적
오기근회원은 1968년 이화여자대학교를 졸업 후 1982년 연세대학교에서 의학박사를 취득하시고, 병원, 학회, 협회 등 의료계 전반에서 적극적인 활동을 해오셨으며, 특히 유방암 영상진단 분야의 선구자이자 국제적인 교류를 통해 유방암 정복을 위해 노력하셨습니다.
1973년부터 2008년까지 연세대학교 의과대학 영상의학교실 교수로 재직하시면서, 1996년부터 2001년까지 연세대학교 의과대학 영동세브란스병원 유방암센터의 제 1대 소장을 역임하셨습니다. 일생을 대한영상의학회, 대한초음파의학회, 대한유방검진의학회 등에서 주요 역할을 수행해오시면서 영상의학과 의료계의 발전을 위해 헌신하셨으며, 대내외적으로도 많은 공적을 남기셔서 2005년 한국유방암학회 공로상, 2007년 제7회 ‘비추미 여성대상’ 별리상 (삼성생명공익재단), 2008년 이명박 대통령 ‘옥조근조훈장상’, 2011년 제4회 ‘박에스더상’ (이화여자대학교 의과대학 총동창회)을 수상하셨습니다.
